Last semester we had great pleasure to welcome a celebrated Australian film director, writer, and producer, Bruce Beresford (Mao's Last Dancer) as our special Key Note Speaker. The Key Note Speaker for our 12th Festival is Ray Lawrence, director of some of the most critically acclaimed works in Australian cinema - Bliss (1985); Lantana (2001); Jindabyne (2006). He will be addressing the audience during the second festival night, on Wednesday July 14 @ 6.30pm prior to the final screening and awards ceremony. To RSVP for this session please email ikeller@sydneyfilmschool.com
The first night of the festival, Tuesday 13th, is reserved for the Graduation Ceremony that will screen all the major projects produced by our graduates in the last semester of their 1-year studies.

As a special feature of the graduation night, continuing its collaboration with international film schools, the SFS Festival will screen one short film by emerging filmmaker from Poland
.
Each semester the SFS Festival highlights one region from around the world. Till this date the Sydney Film School Festival has screened ten short films from ten international film schools including those from Denmark, China, Croatia, Singapore, Japan, France, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia. The 11th SFS Festival turned the spotlight on Greece and exposed the audience to contemporary Greek film culture. We are looking forward to the Polish flavour this year.

Second day, July 14 from 4-5.30pm 12th SFS Film Festival presents the discussion Panel ‘The One Thing All New Filmmakers Must Know: Distribution’
. The panel will aim to enlighten you on how to get your films to an audience (festivals, online, etc) and get your film career going.
Be a part of our festival and participate in one of the most exciting film events in the city! Event is free and open to all!
